Why a slideshow is not a video
In the app the two look alike, but the post is stored as separate image files plus an audio file. There is no finished video sitting on a server waiting to be handed over.
That is why tools built only for video either fail on these posts or return a low-quality recording of the screen transition. The images themselves are usually far sharper than any recording of them.
What you receive

Opening a ZIP on a phone
On iPhone, tap the file in the Files app and it expands into a folder in place. On Android, most file managers open ZIPs directly; Files by Google has an Extract button.
If you only want the pictures, delete the audio file afterwards. Nothing else needs doing.
What cannot be downloaded
- Photo posts from private accounts.
- Posts deleted between copying the link and pasting it.
- Region-restricted posts, the same as for video.

Can I download just one image from the slideshow?
The archive contains them all; keep the one you want and delete the rest. Fetching a single frame separately is on the list of things to add.
Are the images full quality?
They are handed back at the resolution they were uploaded at, which is higher than what the app displays on a phone screen.
Does the audio come with it?
Yes, as its own file inside the archive. You can also use the MP3 option if the sound is all you want.
Why is my download a ZIP and not photos?
Because a photo post is many files. A ZIP keeps them together and in order instead of scattering them through your gallery.
